Today seems to be Nexus 5 leak day. This thing is leaking faster than the titanic at this point. We’ve already seen some pictures of the device “left at a bar”, along with two versions of it passing through WiFi certification. Now it appears it was benchmarked on GFXBench benchmark site.
So what exactly does this benchmark tell us about the Nexus 5 aka D820? Well we know that it is a Snapdragon 800 processor with a min CPU speed of 300MHz and a max of 2265MHz. It also tells us the display is 1794 x 1080. I’m assuming the 1794 is lower than the 1920 we expected because of the on-screen buttons. The Nexus 4 itself has a rather strange resolution as well, it’s actually wider than most devices at 1280×768.
What’s interesting here is that it does say the version release is Key Lime Pie. Which is strange since Google confirmed and announced a few weeks ago that Android 4.4 was going to be named KitKat. Although that could be some brilliant trolling by Google. It’s also named the Nexus 5 with the board being Hammerhead. Both names have been floating around for a whole already.
So this could be the real deal. Especially since it matches up perfectly with a lot of the other rumors we’ve seen surfacing lately. Hopefully we learn more about the Nexus 5 soon. Like the rest of the specs. And why it’s a 1794×1080 resolution display. Either way, if it’s using the same display as the G2, it’s going to be a beautiful display on the Nexus 5.
To recap, we’ve got a LG Nexus 5, with a 1794×1080 resolution display sporting a Snapdragon 800 processor. Oh and it’s running Key Lime Pie (maybe they forgot to change it to KitKat). It’s looking like we’re getting close to the release date. Hopefully Google will send out invites to their invite very soon. I’m definitely getting excited, and I’m sure the rest of you are too!
