The Galaxy S 5 Hits 150 Markets In The Second Week Of April

So the wait is over, and Samsung has officially announced their new flagship for all the world to see, the  Samsung Galaxy S5. Alongside the new flagship smartphone at the Unpacked 5 event during Mobile World Congress today, Samsung also announced three new additions of their “Gear” devices, the Gear 2, Gear 2 Neo, and the Gear Fit smartwatches. The Galaxy S 5 has a myriad of new features that weren’t found in previous Galaxy devices, like the Finger Scanner, the IP67 rating for dust and water resistance, the heart rate sensor, improved battery life with a new power save mode and super dim brightness feature, and tons more. Now that the wait is over and we know what “The Next Big Thing” from Samsung has to offer, the wait begins for when consumers can get their hands on one of these new devices.

Thankfully for those who are ready to upgrade, Samsung was kind enough to mention at least when the phone can be purchased. Starting April 11th with a month wide rollout, consumers will be able to pick up a brand new Galaxy S 5 from multiple carriers and retailers. Samsung didn’t specify everywhere exactly that the GS5 would be launched, but they did say that they would be launching it in over 150 countries, with mentions of major markets like the US, UK, South Korea, etc. Here in the US, at least three of the four major carriers have decided to pick up the phone for their spring lineup. T-Mobile, At&t, and Sprint will all begin carrying the Galaxy S 5 this April. There was no mention of Verizon Wireless carrying the device but they are the number one carrier in the US, and it would make no sense for the phone not to find a home on Big Red’s shelves.

When it comes to the UK, at least a few carriers have agreed to sell the phone, including Three, EE, and Vodafone UK. Consumers will also be able to grab one of these devices at major retailers Carphone Warehouse and Phones4U outlets, which are both holding partnerships with Samsung to have Samsung retail stores in the region. Sadly, what might be the most important piece of information regarding the phones launch and launch dates which is the price, was not mentioned as of yet. Samsung is more than likely reserving that bit until it gets closer to launching device. April 11th isn’t too far away, so perhaps Samsung will release that information in the middle or towards the end of next month.
