Spigen Amazon Ad Suggests Samsung Might Be Announcing Galaxy S 5 Prime at MWC Alongside Galaxy S 5

Samsung’s Unpacked event is creeping closer. In just three short days, we should see the announcement of Samsung’s newest addition to the Galaxy family- the Galaxy S 5. We’ve heard quite a few rumors about the S 5, so let me recap them for you. Rumor has it that the S 5 will feature a 5.2-inch “2k” screen, a fingerprint scanner for security, and a 16-megapixel camera. Rumors also suggest that the Galaxy S 5 will be waterproof and dust proof. A recent leaked screenshot has also suggested that the Galaxy S 5 will be available in a gold color, as well. It also appears that we’re going to be seeing some new updates to TouchWiz. Rumors state that the icons currently used with TouchWiz will be more flat, and it also appears that Samsung has updated the S-Voice interface, as well.

On top of all these rumors, today we saw an Amazon listing for a new Spigen case. The case shows that it is compatible with the Galaxy S 5 as well as the Galaxy S 5 Prime. Now, the Galaxy S 5 Prime is not a device that we’ve heard mentioned before. SamMobile states that this could be a possible premium Galaxy S 5. The case listing doesn’t mention much else about the phone, but we do see the case on some mock-ups. The cases are going to be available on April 15th, and they’re currently selling for $10.49 (plus $3.00 shipping).

We really won’t know for sure until this device is announced, but it’s possible that Spigen is trying to get more attention on this case. However, this could be the premium version of the Galaxy S 5 that everyone has been wishing for. The Samsung that we have all come to know generally uses a plastic material for its phones.  It would definitely be nice to see a different kind of material and texture on the Galaxy S 5. After the Note 3, where Samsung used a faux-leather plastic backing, it looks like Samsung may indeed be experimenting with different textures. I suppose we’ll just have to wait and see.

Remember, the big Unpacked event is on February 24th. We’ll hear more concrete information starting on that date, and we’ll see if the Galaxy S 5 Prime is among one of the many devices that Samsung is rumored to announce.
