HTC One M8 in Glacial Silver Now Available on AT&T

When HTC announced the 2014 HTC One M8 they showed the device off in 3 different colors: Gunmetal Gray, Glacial Silver and Amber Gold.  Originally the 4th color was reported to be red, but it looks like that one might end being a Verizon exclusive in the US.  What was odd though is that only the Gunmetal Gray was launched initilly, but it looks like that is slowly being rectified.  HTC seems to have chosen the Gunmetal Gray as the flagship color for its new phone, but now its making available the same Glacial Silver that was popularized with last year’s HTC One M7.

AT&T has started carrying the Glacial Silver color as of today, and it’s being offered for the same price as the Gunmetal Gray variant.  The HTC One M8 on AT&T goes for $199.99 on a 2-year contract and $639.99 contract-free.  Remember that AT&T offers a discount on lines where the phone was purchased outright, so it may make sense to do that over signing a new contract.  Also AT&T is running a $100 bill credit for first-time customers after the first 45 days, as well as giving $30 off a Jawbone ERA Bluetooth headset when purchased with the HTC One M8.

If you’re not up to speed with the HTC One M8, know that it’s HTC’s 2014 successor to the amazing HTC One from 2013.  It features the same style all-aluminum body but actually features even more metal than last year’s HTC One.  The edges are smoothed out and tapered, giving a better feel in the hand, and the device is a little larger than last year’s device too.  It features the same Ultrapixel camera from last year but also feature a second Duo Camera as HTC calls it, which allows you to apply some pretty amazing lens blurring effects to your pictures, giving them that SLR look and feel without much work at all.  Not happy with the current choice of colors?  Amber Gold will be coming soon, and as rumor has it we should be seeing a red and black HTC One M8 as well in the near future.
