Could this User Agent Profile be the AT&T Samsung Galaxy S5 Active?

So, we’re not sure why Samsung would make a Galaxy S5 Active. The reason being is that the Galaxy S5 is already waterproof and dust proof, which is what the Galaxy S4 Active was last year. So it’s a bit confusing as to why they’d do a Galaxy S5 Active – unless it’s going to be indestructible. Although, according to GSMArena it looks like Samsung will be making a Galaxy S5 Active and that it’s heading to AT&T. Last year, AT&T had the Galaxy S4 Active, and it was exclusive to their network. Hopefully the same thing doesn’t happen again this year, but who knows.

The model is the SM-G870A, which we’re expecting this device to be the SM-G870, and the “A” stands for the carrier, which in this case is AT&T. The UAProf shows that we’re looking at a 1080p display, which should make a few people happy. Because there was some talk of it being a Galaxy S5 Mini, but with a 1080p display, that looks unlikely. Additionally, the UAProf metadata shows that it was last updated three weeks ago, which shows us that the device is still an active project for Samsung.

That’s about all we know about the SM-G870 and SM-G870A right now. Hopefully we’ll learn more about it soon, but it’s likely not the Galaxy S5 Zoom, as the recent specs are showing that is coming with a 720p display. It’s looking like Samsung is going to have a Galaxy S5 family again this year, like they did for the Galaxy S4 last year which saw the Galaxy S4 Zoom, Galaxy S4 Mini and the Galaxy S4 Active, which the Galaxy S4 Active was my favorite out of the four Galaxy S4’s. Only downside was availability – and the fact that it wasn’t really water resistant. But it looked really awesome. Are any of you holding out for the GalaxyS 5 Active?
