Fastest Sellout Ever Goes to the Nubia X6 in 9.8 Seconds

China’s phablet market is really booming right now, and for a couple of good reasons.  First, like the rest of the world, there are a large number of people that love larger screens, and with manufacturers creating ever-larger screens in ever-shrinking bodies people are getting more screen retail than ever before with the same physical size of their last phone.  The other trend we’re seeing with phablets is a great value factor, with excellent specs going hand in hand with an excellent price.  Nubia’s newest phone, the Nubia X6, just so happens to fit in that category, offering a rather large 6.44-inch 1080p screen, which places the size of the device in the Xperia Z Ultra category but with considerably smaller bezels around the screen.  It’s also packing the latest internal specs including the Qualcomm Snapdragon 801, 2GB of RAM and either 32GB or 64GB of internal storage and an incredibly long-lasting 4,250 mAh battery.  The 64GB version actually features a slightly higher clocked Snapdragon 801 too.

For CNY 3499 you could get a 64GB model, and CNY 2999 would have netted you a 32GB model if they were available, and that’s the big deal here.  Nubia managed to generate enough hype to sell this phone out in just under 10 seconds flat, or what amounts to a new world record.  How many Nubia X6’s were sold?  Nubia isn’t saying, but it’s likely somewhere in the 50,000 range, give or take a few thousand.  Why such a low number for the initial batch?  Chinese manufacturers have figured out that they sell more phones with less waste by manufacturing the phones in batches and only selling them a few thousand at a time.  This brilliant move has not only increased hype for a phone and of course demand as a result, and it has driven the cost of devices down as well.  For the size of the phone and the specs here Nubia is selling the 32GB model at around $480 USD, which isn’t quite as low as the rather insane $300 for the 16GB OnePlus One that’s an entire inch smaller, but still puts it considerably cheaper than competing Samsung or HTC products.  When’s the next batch of Nubia X6 phablets going to hit the street?  Stay posted here and we’ll be sure to get that info out as soon as its made available.
