WiFi-Only Version of Galaxy Note 8.0 Getting Android 4.4.2 KitKat Upda

When Samsung released the Galaxy Note 8.0, they created a pretty decent compromise between portability and productivity, with the S-Pen being able to take notes, create graphs and tables as well as a whole lot more. Of course, for those not interested in getting work done on their tablets, the S-Pen makes for a great tool when playing games like Fruit Ninja. Needless to say, the Galaxy Note 8.0 was not only one of the first 8-inch tablets to hit the market, but also one of the better ones. Now, it’s getting that little bit better with an update to the latest version of Android. The WiFi-Only model of the Galaxy Note 8.0, with the model number GT-N5110, is getting updated to Android 4.4.2 KitKat and it seems those across the pond in the UK are getting it first. As this is an update to the WiFi model from Samsung themselves though, the update shouldn’t take too long to make its way to other territories all over the globe. As always, head on over to the system settings on your Note 8.0 to see if there’s an update available, if there is go ahead and download it. After it’s been installed, you’ll see the software version change to N5110XXDNE1. This update brings all of the headlining KitKat features, such as improved performance, cloud printing support and the immersive mode that truly lets apps go full screen. As with the Galaxy Note 3 and Galaxy S4 KitKat updates, the statusbar icons have all turned white and there’s a simple and easy to use camera shortcut on the lockscreen now.
