Today, AT&T is beefing up their tablet offerings. By adding the Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 as well as the Galaxy Note PRO 12.2 to it’s lineup. Now they are also adding the much awaited ASUS Padfone X. Which is part tablet and part phone. It is basically both. The phone is a 5-inch semi-high end device, which can slide into the back of the tablet. Now the tablet only has a big battery and a screen in there. All the processing power, RAM, etc., all comes from the phone part of the unit. AT&T is offering this one for $199 on a new two-year contract or $29.80/month if you’d rather use AT&T Next. However, if you want to buy it outright it’ll cost you $595.
Onto the Galaxy Tab 4. I actually have one of these right now that I’m working on reviewing. This one is the 10.1-inch model and is a pretty decent mid-range tablet. From the few days I’ve been using the WiFi model, I haven’t noticed any issues at all, and it’s surprisingly very speedy for the specs that it has. AT&T is offering it for $479 outright, which is about a $130 jump over the price of the WiFi version, or $379 with a new two-year contract. However, if you want to use AT&T Next, it’ll cost you $24/month for about 20 months.
Finally the Galaxy Note PRO 12.2. This is a big tablet. A really big tablet. It’s basically the Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 Edition stretched out to 12.2 inches. It features a Snapdragon 800, 3GB of RAM and the famous S Pen. It’s definitely a great tablet. You can buy it outright for $899 or $799 on a new two-year contract. While the installment plan is $45/month for 20 months. It’s kind of steep, but this is a top-of-the-line tablet that’s bigger than most tablets as well.
So we’ve got a few new tablets from AT&T to choose from. Which one would you choose? I’d probably go for the ASUS Padfone X, since it would cover both tablet and smartphone. Let us know which one you’ve got your eyes on in the comments below.
