Google Now has a Great Chance to Dominate Mobile Personalization

 

Google Now is starting to become a very important part of the Android experience. This handy little personal assistant application lets you give pretty much any command to it and will also give you information in the form of cards. There are a ton of voice commands that you can use with Google Now! Google Now is not only becoming very popular on Android devices, but it is also becoming popular on iOS devices. In fact, if Google Now keeps going on the path that it is currently on, it has the chance to dominate mobile personalization!

Google Now was launched during the Android 4.1 launch and has been on iOS since April 2013.  Now we believe there are about 600 million active Android devices and with the addition of iOS Google Now gained about 300 million more users. There are a lot of mobile personal assistants such as Siri on iOS Cortana on Windows 8.1 and SVoice on Galaxy devices. What sets Google Now apart from services like Siri, is that it has an upper hand in the data collection. Google has been collecting data for years and is taking advantage of it when you as Google Now something. Think about it, Google holds about 95% share of the mobile search activity.  This means that all of the searches that users end up doing is through Google, and has been this way for quite some time!

 

Another great thing that Google Now does, is learns about your habits through you activity on Google products, such as maps and youtube. Google uses the information to tell you when to leave for work if there is a traffic jam along your route. Google Now is now even available for you to use on Google Chrome right on your desktop. 

Google Now is well on it way to becoming very dominate and it shows no signs of slowing down!
