Android Wear made a big appearance at Google’s developer conference known as Google I/O. While it was great to see an in depth look at what the software will look like, it seemed as though people wanted to see the hardware. As of now there are only two smart watches that will be available within the day-the Samsung Gear Live, and the LG G Watch. The question many people want to know the answer to is where can I get the smart watches, well the LG G Watch is headed to AT&T.
While the smart watches will surely be available on multiple carriers, AT&T has announced that they will be the first to carry the LG G Watch. The specs of the LG G Watch include on always on 1.65-inch IPS display, a 400mAh battery, and a 1.2GHz SnapDragon processor. We have an in depth look at the specs already written up HERE. The LG G Watch will be running Google’s new Android Wear.
Android Wear will bring notifications from your smartphone, right to your wrist. The idea is that this will save you time and keep you in the real world more so than in the digital world. Apps will also be developed for the software bringing more convenience. Android wear will be able to alert you of traffic conditions, calendar events and more. All of the awesome features of the LG G Watch are priced at $229 on the Google Play Store. Though AT&T may have different pricing.
AT&T has announced that they will be the first carrier to sell the LG G Watch-but left out many details. Surely the LG G Watch would fit nicely as a bundled product, though AT&T could decide to sell it separately at a mildly higher price than on the Google Play Store. According to the press release from AT&T the only other details that have been announced are vague. AT&T has not set a date for release instead only saying that the LG G Watch will be in stores, “in the coming weeks, and we look forward to sharing more details soon.”
