Android How To: Setup your Android Wear Smartwatch

Setting up your brand new LG G Watch or Samsung Gear Live is actually dead simple. Google has made it so easy to do, and we love that. Before we get started, you’ll want to be sure you have the Android Wear app installed on your phone or tablet (which needs to be running Android 4.3 or higher).

Once the app is installed, you’ll want to open up the app and go ahead and Tap Next, Accept and turn on Bluetooth. Now it’s going to start searching for available smartwatches. Once it finds the one you want to pair it too, just select pair. Within a few seconds you’re all set. Now you are able to use the Android Wear app to control your watch with installing different apps, clock faces, muting notifications and more. You can also view your Google Fit data as well from the app. At the bottom of the app there is a link to take you to the Android Wear section of the Play Store, which has more and more apps every day. Which is always nice to have.

Like I said, it’s dead simple to setup your brand new LG G Watch or Samsung Gear Live. But there are some people that are new out there, so it’s our job to show them how to do various things like setting up their Android Wear smartwatch. This same process should work for any other smartwatch that launches with Android Wear support. But for now, that’s limited to just the LG G Watch and Samsung Gear Live. We’ve included a video down below to help people out (it’s also an unboxing), for those that like more visuals.
