We’re approaching the biggest tech show of the Fall, and that is IFA. We’re already expecting Sony to announce the Xperia Z3 and Xperia Z3 compact on September 3rd in Berlin, along with Samsung announcing the Galaxy Note 4 and Gear VR (date isn’t known yet as they haven’t sent out invites just yet). And now it looks like Huawei has some goodies to show us. The tagline of their invite says “Empowering a future of exciting possibilities”. Basically hinting at new devices coming at IFA. Now we aren’t sure what to expect, as the only device leak we’ve seen was the Ascend Mate 3, which we’re expecting at CES in January, as all the other Ascend Mates were announced there. Maybe they’ll surprise us with something new, and maybe it’ll actually come to the US this time? While we may not see the Ascend Mate 3, we may see another Honor device, maybe the Honor 6. Which is their low-end smartphone lineup, which does extremely well in China and the rest of Asia. As it’s pretty well specced but still pretty cheap.
For those looking to add this to your calendar, it takes place from 3-4:15pm on Thursday, September 4th. And remember that Berlin is about 6 hours ahead of the east coast (in the US) and about 9 hours ahead of the west coast. So there’s that. September 3rd and 4th are going to be pretty busy days around here. With all the press conferences ahead of the actual trade show kicking off on September 5th and running til September 10th this year. Lots of goodies getting announced this year. What do you think that Huawei will announce at IFA in September? Anything we should look forward to in North America? It’d be nice to see the Honor 6 launch over here.
