Finally we have word from AT&T as to when they will start selling the LG G3. It appears that we will see it AT&T stores on July 11th with pre-orders beginning tomorrow. Now I’m not sure why they are doing pre-orders for only three days, but hey they are still pre-orders. So there’s that. The LG G3 now has a release date on three of the four US carriers. AT&T on July 11th, T-Mobile on July 16th and Sprint on July 18th. Now we are just awaiting word from Verizon on when they plan to release their LG G3.
AT&T will be selling the LG G3 for just $199 on a new two-year contract. Which is about what we expected for this device, and pricing will probably be similar when Verizon announces theirs. However, if you’re looking to pick it up on AT&T Next, their Next 12 will offer it for $0 down and $29/month, and Next 18 is $o down and $24.17/month. Still not bad considering you’re walking out the door without putting down any money. The LG G3 features a 5.5-inch 2560×1440 resolution display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor, 3GB of RAM, 32GB of storage, with a microSD card slot, 13MP camera with Laser Auto Focus and OIS+, a 2.1MP front-facing camera and a 3000mAh removable battery. It’s also running on Android 4.4 KitKat and LG’s latest version of their Optimus overlay.
We reviewed the LG G3 a few weeks ago, although it was the Korean version, and really loved the device. Now the biggest thing everyone asked about the LG G3 was the battery life. And I’d say that the battery life is good, just not great. Many are comparing it to the LG G2, and rightfully so, but the LG G2 still does have better battery life, and that’s coming from someone who used the LG G2 as their daily driver for about 6 months.
