Sony Xperia Z1 Compact Is Now Available In The US

As for a heavyweight contender, Sony hasn’t reached that status here in the United States. Companies like Samsung, HTC, and LG are toppling over the less hard hitting consumer phones. Sony’s lack of presence in the US nowadays is the cause of this and with their latest phone release, could be their possible return. The Sony Xperia Z1 Compact has now been made available for US buyers on their website. The price for the Xperia Z1 Compact is only $549.99. If you end up purchasing this device, you will be able to have 4G LTE under AT&T and T-Mobile.

Now for specs, the Sony Xperia Z1 Compact has some fairly good hardware. Not to mention that this device is also water and dust resistant which makes it a bit cooler. Now the word compact really fits the name of this device with its 4.3 inch display and 720p screen resolution. We’re practically in the mini range with such a screen size. The Z1 compact comes running with a Snapdragon 800 quad-core processor and running along side is 2GB of RAM. Hailing on the back of the Z1 is a huge 20.7MP camera. The device also comes with Bluetooth 4.0 and has a 2,300mAh battery. The software of choice is of course Android but this specific device will come out of the box running Android 4.3. As many of you know, a lot of us had issues with the 4.3 update so the Z1 Compact will more than likely receive the 4.4 update sometime down the road.

Overall, the device comes packing some pretty good hardware and with that massive camera on the back, a lot of great pictures can be taken. Everything on the device is up to date with standard hardware and software that is coming out on most phones, so it shouldn’t have a problem stepping into the US market. With the Z1’s smaller size, you can probably go ahead categorize this device as a mini, not to mention the name of it too. Let us know what you think of the Z1 compact in the comments section below.
