Meizu has announced they will hold a press event on September 2nd and will announce new products, or as the press invitation says: “Think High” and below that “2014 Meizu product launch”. The invitation itself shows lots of colors as you can see and a big number 4 in the middle of it, which probably indicates the launch of both Meizu MX4 smartphone and Flyme 4.0 OS (with Android underneath of course). The event will take place at Beijing National Stadium at 14:30 (2:30pm), local time.
Last year’s Meizu event brought us Meizu MX3, which was and still is a rather capable device with its Exynos 5 Octa 5410 octa-core chip, 2GB of RAM and a 5.1-inch 1080 x 1080 display along with an 8MP rear-facing shooter. This year the rumors are suggesting Meizu might launch several devices instead of just one. Meizu MX4, MX4 Pro and MX3S have all been rumored lately. The emphasis being on the MX4 considering this is Meizu’s pride and joy, unless they launch MX4 Pro alongside it of course. Meizu MX4 specifications leaked recently, according to that information, Meizu MX 4 will sport a 5-inch 1080p (1920 x 1080) display, 3GB of RAM and a 20.7-megapixel camera on the back accompanied by an 8-megapixel front-facing shooter. That’s right, a whooping 8-megapixel sensor is rumored to be located on the front of the device. Samsung’s Exynos 5430 is said to be a processor Meizu will use in MX4. We’ve already seen this device leak in a photo with its super slim bezels and all. The device is expected to cost 2499 Yuan, which is approximately $406 when converted.
The other device mentioned in several leaks by now is MX4 Pro, whose specs have also been outed in an aforementioned leak. This device is expected to sport an Exynos 5433 SoC, a 5.5-inch 2K (2560 x 1536) display along with 3GB of RAM and the same camera sensors mentioned for the base MX4 model, 20.7-megapixel on the back and 8-megapixel one on the front. MX4 Pro is basically a bigger version of the MX4, if the leaks are to be believed that is. Either way you spin it, both of these device should come with a Flyme 4.0 OS which is expected to launch alongside those smartphones. We’ll find out how accurate these leaks are really soon, in the meantime more rumors will probably emerge, if not, September 2nd is the date we’ll find out everything there is to know about Meizu’s upcoming devices and OS.
