RUMOR: AT&T Gets Timed-Exclusive on MotoMaker Again

Its like deja vu all over again. Last year when Motorola announced the Moto X+1, Motorola also announced the MotoMaker which allowed you to choose custom backs and colors and all kinds of things. But there was a catch. AT&T had the exclusive for about three months. In November, the site opened up for all carriers, although that did cost Motorola quite a bit as that was a huge selling point for the Moto X last year. And the fact that AT&T had the exclusive through all their competitors’ fall launches, really screwed them over. And it looks like AT&T has done it again.

In a report from Phone Arena and TK Tech News, it appears that AT&T has gotten a timed-exclusive once again on Moto Maker. Which really does suck, but what can we do. Motorola is set to announce the Moto X+1 next week in Chicago, along side the Moto G2, and Moto 360. In addition to this report, Phone Arena is reporting that the Moto X+1 could cost as little as just $249. And that is for the 32GB version on a contract at AT&T. TK Tech News has also stated that the 64GB version will be available as well. There’s also word that the 16GB model could come in at a “budget price” which would definitely be really interesting. Although I think it would be better for Motorola to sell the Moto X+1 for around $300-350 off contract, As I know they’d sell a boat load more. Just like they have with the original Moto G when they launched it last year.

Whatever the deal is, we’ll find out more next week in Chicago when Motorola takes the Moto X+1, Moto G2, and the Moto 360 out from under the wraps. I’ll be there to see what’s going on. So make sure you stay tuned to Android Headlines for all the latest.
