Galaxy Alpha leaks are really coming in at an incredible pace. Just as I finished writing about the alleged variants of the phone which appeared on Samsung’s official website another leak came in. We have yet another set of Galaxy Alpha images to share with you, this time it seems to be dark blue or black variant of the device. We’ve seen a couple of leaks up until now, as far as images go. First the device leaked in black and then we’ve seen it leak in white yesterday. The two leaked sets of images showed us 2 different devices, at least as far as the frame goes.
The device on this new set of images, which you can find in the gallery below, comes from @culeaks and actually goes hand in hand with the yesterday’s leak. Whoever took these pictures wants to emphasize that metallic (presumably aluminum) frame with chamfered edges which kind of resembles the iPhone 4, 4S, 5 and 5S. Talking about the Apple’s product, you can see it compared to the Galaxy Alpha in one of the images below (we’re assuming the device in the image is the iPhone 5s). Apple’s current flagship is 7.6mm thick and yet the alleged Galaxy Alpha, which is next to it on the image, is significantly thinner. We’ve heard some rumors that it might be around 6mm thin, if those turn out to be true this is going to be an extremely thin device. We didn’t get a good look at the front some of this phone this time, only a partial one, but it seems like this is the darker variant of already leaked white version.
@culeaks (Twitter handle without prior posts) also posted a rundown of Galaxy Alpha’s specifications. According to this leak the device will sport a 4.7″ 720p screen, Exynos octa-core processor (A15), 2GB of RAM, 12MP rear-facing camera with Android 4.4 KitKat pre-installed on the device and a 1850mAh battery powering the whole thing. The only thing that differs from the rumors thus far is that camera, rumors have been pointing towards a 8MP shooter while @culeaks says we’ll find a 12MP one on the Galaxy Alpha. The expected Galaxy Alpha launch date is (hopefully) August 13 when we should find out everything there is to know about this device, Samsung’s camera of choice included. I don’t doubt we’ll see a few more leaks before that date comes though, stay tuned.
