When it comes to Android phones, there’s really lots to choose from. Anyone can find a device they like as far as the design goes, the only question remains if you’ll like the UI on said device. Vast majority of people just don’t care actually, as far as the device is working fine they’re satisfied. Basically every Android flagship and mid-range phone these day is working just fine (there are exceptions of course) for the general consumer, which in a way shows how far Android has come. Sony makes some rather elegant devices, ever since the first Xperia Z they managed to achieve certain elegance and thus attract people to buy their devices. Unfortunately for the U.S. consumers the latest Sony flagship, Xperia Z2, didn’t even make it to one of the carriers over there. Luckily for them, it seems Xperia Z3 will see its way to the U.S. after all.
We’ve seen a rumor recently which supports this fact. T-Mobile will allegedly pick up the Z3 after it gets unveiled this year, probably at IFA in Berlin. There’s also been some talk that the Xperia Z3 may not support T-Mobile’s 700MHz network, as a reminder both Samsung Galaxy Avant and Samsung Galaxy Tab 8 4.0 which launched recently support it. We’re still not sure if the device will support T-Mobile’s 800MHz network, but the latest report confirms the device is tested for T-Mobile’s network. The report indicates testing on: 3G/4G band 5 (850MHz), band 2 (1900MHz) and band 4 (1700/2100MHz) along with an LTE band 12 (700MHz), band 2 (1900MHz) and band 4 (1700/2100MHz. This is a really specific network combination which kind of confirms the device is being tested for a launch on T-Mobile’s network.
Xperia Z3’s leaked specs look awfully similar to Z2’s specifications. If the leak is to be believed, Xperia Z3 will sport a 5.15″ 1080p panel, a Snapdragon 801 2.4GHz quad-core processor, Adreno 330 GPU and 3GB of RAM. Additionally, It is expected to have 16GB of internal storage, a 20.7MP camera on the back and 2.1MP on the front. Latest Android version 4.4.4 KitKat should come pre-installed on the device. Sony has a habit of launching its devices on a Wednesday prior to IFA in Berlin which is held in September, so we’re expecting Sony to launch the Z3 then.
