Amazon's Fire Phone Now just $0.99 On Contract and $449 Off Contract at AT&T

Well this took a bit longer than we expected, but the Amazon Fire Phone is now just $0.99 on contract. And if you want to buy it outright it’s gonna cost you $449. Which is closer to what the pricing should have been at launch, at least in my opinion. We’ve heard all kinds of reports that the Fire Phone isn’t doing well. And actually, I’m not surprised. When you announce a phone that only has your own services on it, and no Google Search, YouTube, or anything like that. Then launch it only in the US and only AT&T, at $199 and $299 on contract, it’s not going to sell well. Especially with the specs the Fire Phone was sporting. Now if it were $299 off contract for the 64GB version, I’d definitely would recommend it. But not at $299 on contract.

The Amazon Fire Phone did have some cool features, and did also have a great camera. But here’s a real life scenario for you. When I was out taking pictures with the Fire Phone for a review I was working on, I wanted to share a picture I took with the Fire Phone onto Google+. But I couldn’t because there’s no Google services. Instead, what I had to do was upload it to Dropbox, then go onto a phone with Google services and grab it from Dropbox and upload it to Google+. Making Google services a really important part of any phone ecosystem.

Today, Amazon announced that the Fire Phone is coming to the UK and Germany, and it just dropped to $0.99 on contract here in the US. So it looks like they are getting ready to shed their extra stock they have left. What would it take for you to pick up Amazon’s Fire Phone? Be sure to let us know in the comments below.
