One of the things that everyone asked every time we saw a leak for the new Moto X was the camera. Will it be a better camera. Well, I think it is, but people don’t always agree with me, so check out the pictures in the gallery at the bottom of this post. The most of them were taken at 13MP which is a 4:3 ratio, others were at 9.7MP which is a 16:9 aspect ratio. And you should be able to tell the difference. A lot of these shots were taken in downtown Chicago and some over in my hotel room, while I was writing up all of this content for Motorola’s new products.
Similar to last year’s Moto X, the camera app on the Moto X is incredibly easy to use. Simply swipe from the left to get to settings and stuff, and swipe from the right to get to the gallery. You can also tap anywhere to take a photo, and the shutter seems to be pretty fast as well. Which is always a plus. I remember how slow the LG G2 shutter was and the Nexus 5 when it first launched. And with Motorola’s camera being in the Play Store, they can update it even faster than before. Which is great because we don’t need carriers to approve the update. Just a quick app update through the Play Store and voila.
That’s what I think about the camera, now like I said earlier, I’m sure some of you or even all of you will disagree with me. And that’s fine. We all have our own opinions. But thought everyone would like to see some camera samples of the Moto X now instead of waiting for our full review in a couple of weeks.
