Elephone has announced three budget devices just a few days ago, announced three budget devices just a few days ago, Elephone G4, G5 and G6. This Hong Kong-based company will even launch an Elephone P4000 handset which should compete directly with Xiaomi Mi4 and Meizu MX4 and should be more powerful than the three devices I mentioned. This device is expected to sport MediaTek’s MT6592 octa-core chip (like the one in Meizu MX4), 2GB of RAM and a 5-inch 720p (1280 x 720) display amongst other specifications. Elephone usually makes budget devices and that’s their thing, though they might dip into the high-end market as well in the near future.
I wrote earlier today about pre-order for Elephone G5 and it’s G6’s turn now. Elephone G6 will be available for pre-order starting September 23rd and you’ll be able to pre-order it even if you don’t live in China. Pre-order will be opened globally. Elephone G6 features a 5-inch 720p (1280 x 720) IPS display along with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage. The device is powered by MediaTek’s MT6592 octa-core processor clocked at 1.7GHz and Mali-450 GPU for graphics. 13-megapixel camera can be found at the back of this device where you can find a fingerprint scanner as well. This is a dual SIM device and it comes with Micro SD card slot as well. Android 4.4 KitKat is pre-installed and the device is only 7.8mm thick. 2250mAh battery is here to make sure your phone lasts through the day. As far as network connectivity goes, this is a 3G device, no 4G available.
Pre-orders are available through Chinese resellers Coolicool, Focalprice and Eternal Team with a special pre-order price of $146,99 and a 16GB SD card slot as a gift. This is a mid-range device and for the price point it can even serve you as a backup device if you’re not into mid-rangers. Though I believe this device packs enough power for most users and it has a rather affordable price, especially considering it is discounted during pre-order period. Anyone plans to get one of these?
