After lots of leaks and rumors surrounding Samsung’s premium-built device, Galaxy Alpha finally launched about a month and a half ago. Leaks were basically spot on and we got a relatively solid device sporting a really sleek build. The specifications weren’t exactly best Samsung ever came up with, but they were nothing to scoff at either. Many people immediately started complaining about the 72op display though, which isn’t all that bad considering this device comes with 4.7-inch screen. The device will be available in India in the first week of October and it will cost Rs 39,990. The device will be available in Charcoal Black, Dazzling White, Frosted Gold, Sleek Silver and Scuba Blue color options.
Samsung Galaxy Alpha features a 4.7-inch 720p (1280 x 720) Super AMOLED display along with 2GB of RAM and 32GB of non-expandable internal storage. This device is powered by Samsung’s Exynos 5 Octa 5430 octa-core processor (quad-core 1.8 GHz Cortex-A15 and quad-core 1.3 GHz Cortex-A7) and Mali-T628 MP6 GPU for graphics processing. 12-megapixel camera can be found at the back of the device along with a LED flash, while there’s a 2.1-megapixel camera located up front. Galaxy Alpha comes with Android 4.4.4 KitKat OS out of the box with Samsung’s TouchWiz UI on top of it. 1860mAh battery is here to make sure your device lasts through the day and the device comes equipped with the usual array of sensors and connectivity options, 4G LTE is also a part of the package. Samsung features like Multi-Window and AirView are all here and so is the fingerprint sensor.
There are people who have been waiting for a device like this. If you don’t have a problem with the 720p resolution screen or Samsung’s software, this device might serve you just fine. Though I’d argue the device is priced way to high, this is not supposed to be a flagship device and yet it has the price of a flagship device. This device is definitely not meant for me, but for those of you interested in India you’ll be able to get it soon for Rs 39,990.
