Huawei has announced their Mate 7 device at IFA in Berlin earlier this month. The device many have pointed out resembles HTC One Max a whole lot is making its way to Chinese customers. Huawei Mate 7 was introduced in two versions at IFA, first version is sporting 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage while the more expensive version comes with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. You can expand the storage via MicroSD card on both of these versions though. High-end version of Mate 7 is available since September 12 for 3699 Yuan in Huawei mall and it comes with exclusive Huawei gold membership privilege services card which brings a few benefits to the table and in amber gold color. The cheaper version, on the other hand, is making its way to the market today. Chinese customers are able to pre-order their 2GB RAM and 16GB ROM Mate 7 today for 2999 Yuan and the device comes in silver and black color options.
Huawei Ascend Mate 7 comes with a 6-inch 1080p (1920 x 1080) IPS LCD display along with 2GB (16GB of internal storage) or 3GB (32GB of internal storage) of RAM. The device is powered by HiSilicon Kirin 925 octa-core processor (quad-core 1.8 GHz Cortex-A15 and quad-core 1.3 GHz Cortex-A7) along with Mali-T628 GPU. The device comes with 13-megapixel rear-facing camera and a 5-megapixel front-facing shooter. 4100mAh non-removable battery is also a part of this package and the device comes with Android 4.4 KitKat out of the box with Huawei’s Emotion UI 3.0 on top of it. The device measures 157 x 81 x 7.9mm and weighs 185 grams. On the back of this device you can find a fingerprint sensor which is located below the camera. This placement also reminds us of HTC One Max like the general design of this device.
There you have it. Huawei actually managed to pack a lot of goodies in this device and it’s going to be interesting to see how will it sell. We all know that there are many devices to choose from in China and many of those are far more affordable than either of these Mate 7 versions. I have to admit I like the design of this device though it is somewhat too big for me. We’ll get our hands on a review unit of this device soon, so stay tuned.
