Motorola has completed its circle with the Motorola Moto X, the Motorola Moto G and the Motorola Moto E – a wide variety of smartphones from high-end to midrange to low-end. They have a line of phones at every price level to satisfy all types of users, from the technically demanding U.S. to the most emerging of nations, and they did this all with only THREE devices. Maybe Samsung should take a page from Motorola’s marketing guide.
The Moto E has already made it to several carriers in Canada and now WIND Mobile is offering it on their website as well for as little as $0 on a their $60 or $50 plans or you can buy it outright for $170. It will run you only $29 on their $35 plan. The device is a basic phone, but built very well and designed as an entry-level purchase – it doesn’t even have a front-facing camera (FFC) for chatting or selfies and does not come with 4G LTE. It is designed for countries with no 4G capabilities, as a great first-time smartphone, for an older crowd that mostly makes phone calls and texts to the kids or grandkids, or even a good first phone for young families that do not want to spend a fortune on phones for the kids.
The Moto E comes with a 4.3-inch display with a resolution of 960 x 540 pixels and is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 dual-core processor clocked at 1.2GHz and uses an Adreno 302 GPU. It is packing only 1GB of RAM and 4GB of internal storage, however, Motorola is being accommodating by designing the Moto E with a microSD card slot to add 32GB of additional storage. So for those that like to store their pictures, videos and music on their device you should have plenty of room. For taking pictures there is a 5MP main camera, however, it is a barebones affair – there isn’t even a flash…and remember, there is no FFC at all. Motorola claims that the 1980mAh battery will easily last the entire day. The Moto E is also running plain vanilla Android 4.4.4 KitKat out of the box and should receive very timely updates for new Android releases.
Please hit us up on our Google+ Page and let us know if you will be running in to your local WIND Mobile shop and picking up a new Moto E…as always, we would love to hear from you.
