HTC has been struggling for a long time now and the Taiwanese company is trying to find a way to regular profit. Based on opinions and reviews from people all around the world (any my own), HTC does make really good devices and most people who have tried company’s smartphones actually like them. So, what’s the problem, why can’t they sell more devices? There could be a number of reasons, marketing is one for sure, others may include incredibly competitive market where Chinese manufacturers make rather solid and yet extremely affordable devices. Either way we spin this, HTC has had financial problems for a long time now. We’ve been seeing reports that they’re going to release a number of health-oriented devices soon, as well as a GoPro camera competitor, but what else does HTC has up its sleeve?
In the last couple of months rumors have been pointing towards a new device by the Taiwanese manufacturer, HTC One Max. This new rumor goes hand in hand with the one we shared about a month ago, it only adds some additional information to it (featured image is not the actual device). The rumor mentions “M8 Life” as a possible codename of the device and says it will sport a 5.5-inch 2K QHD display along with 3GB of RAM and latest Android offering with Sense 6.5 UI from HTC on top of it. The device will allegedly be powered by the aforementioned Snapdragon 805 processor clocked at 2.7GHz and will come with 3000mAh battery (or something close to it). The reports states that it will sport an 18-megapixel OIS camera on the back and will be released in Q4 this year, which means we’ll see it announced soon. This rumor also says that the device will be build from silicon carbide reinforced aluminum ceramic alloy.
So, according to this rumors we should see this thing launched soon, I’m not much into phablets but is there someone who finds this appealing? I’m sure HTC will do a great job with the build and software so this could end up being a really great package just like the HTC One M8, but with a better camera on the inside.
