ZTE has been holding an event today, at which they announced a new device called the ZTE ZMAX, a phablet with a 5.7-inch TFT LCD display, carrying a 720p HD resolution and bound for T-Mobile’s network. ZTE touts this device as being another example of how they are creating products with the user in mind, and that it offers more battery life, more screen but not more price. Basically, they’re giving users what they want with a longer lasting battery and a larger display, but they aren’t hiking up the price for adding in these features. That’s something that any user can most likely appreciate.
Alongside those first couple of specs, the ZTE ZMAX also sports a 3400mAh high capacity embedded battery, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 MSM8926, 1.2GHz Quad-core CPU, an Adreno 305 GPU clocked at 1.2GHz, 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage with expandable storage up to 32GB via the microSD card should the user have need for more space. Although the software on the ZTE ZMAX isn’t quite 100% pure Android, it is running a nearly stock version of it and it comes pre-loaded with Android 4.4 kit kat so it’s running the latest version of the OS. The phones design is actually somewhat appealing. It has rounded edges on the sides almost like the LG G3, but more of a flat surface on the back.
It carries a very boxy shape with squared off corners, which gives it some visual appeal as plenty of devices these days take on a fairly rounded style. ZTE announced at their launch event that the device would not only be landing on T-Mobile’s lineup of devices for the Fall, but it will be exclusive to the carrier as well. The device will be available starting September 24th just in case you were wondering when you can get your hands on this phone, and it’ll only cost a whopping $252 at full retail or, $0 down with 24 monthly payments of $10.50 for qualifying customers. The ZTE ZMAX is also compatible with T-mobile’s LTE network, so you can ensure that you’ll get the fastest data speeds that T-Mobile offers if you’re in an area where the LTE is supported.
