ASUS Officially Launches C200 And C300 Chromebooks In Australia

Chromebooks continue to be a popular choice of laptop for those looking for an inexpensive yet efficient and effective computer, and ASUS entered the market with their first Chromebook offerings earlier this year with the ASUS C200 and ASUS c300 models. If you happen to reside in Australia, it seems that both the C200 and C300 models are now available to purchase which gives consumers in the region more options. ASUS also offers the Chromebox running ChromeOS, but now with their two Chromebook offerings they have a well rounded set of products to offer that are powered by Google’s lightweight and capable alternative to Windows and MAC.

Both the ASUS C200 and the ASUS C300 now officially appear on ASUS Australian website, starting at a price point of $306 for the C200 model while the C300 will cost a bit more with a starting price point of $430. Both models come in a glossy black color option, but the C300 also comes in three other colors for those that like their electronics to appear a little more bold, coming in red, blue, and yellow as well. The C200 model Chromebook according to ASUS boasts an 11 hour battery life off the charger while the C300 model boasts 10 hours of battery life, not a huge difference between the two considering the larger display on the C300.

The C300 model comes with 4GB of RAM and comes in either 16GB or 32GB models. The C200 comes with either 2GB or 4GB of RAM with accompanying 16GB or 32GB of storage internally. Both Chromebooks are running the same processors in either storage size, with the Intel Bay Trail-M Dual Core Celeron N2830 Processor, or the Intel Bay Trail-M Quad Core Celeron N2930 Processor. Both models support dual-band WiFi 802.11 ac, so rest assured wireless standards are as up to date as can possibly be. They also support Bluetooth 4.0 LE, so when using Bluetooth to connect devices it’ll be with minimal battery drain. You’ve also got HDMI out and at least one USB 3.0 port for fast data transfers between devices. The ASUS C200 comes with an 11.6-inch display for being a little more compact and lightweight, while the bigger C300 model comes with a 13.3-inch display for a little more space on screen.
