AT&T Outs Confirmation Of The LG G Watch R On Its Upcoming Lienup

The LG G Watch R is no longer a secret, and hasn’t been for some time, but we have yet to actually be able to purchase the device for ourselves as it hasn’t yet been launched. That time is closing in fast though and AT&T has just recently confirmed that the LG G Watch R will be available on their upcoming lineup of devices. AT&T states that they’ll be among one of the first carriers to offer the LG G Watch R to customers, with its sleek round design to rival the Moto 360, and the P-LOED display as well as water resistance, the LG G Watch R should be an impressive little device when released.

Unfortunately for now, AT&T has only confirmed and announced that they’re carrying the device, but have made no mention of specific availability dates or pricing, just that pricing and availability dates would be announced at a later date. Although we don’t know how long it might take, since the LG G Watch R is yet to release, chances are that the latest update to Android Wear which is version 4.4w.2, will probably be making its way to the G Watch R not too long after release, which would bring it the capability to hide notification cards on the display, as well as add support for storing music from Google Play music on the watch and allow for offline playback via Bluetooth stereo headphones.

The G Watch R as we stated above carries water resistance, with a rating of IP67 so that means it can submersed under 3 ft. of water for up to a minute. It also features a 410mAh battery on the inside and like every other Android Wear offering thus far you’ll be able to customize it by changing out the wrist bands. The G Watch R does give consumers another option now for an Android Wear smartwatch with a round face, although the Moto 360 display does seem to appear a little bit larger due to the edge to edge design. Are you holding out for the LG G Watch R or is the Moto 360 more your speed?
