We all do love Samsung. They are a great company and do know how to make a seriously good device. However, they do like to release devices like there is no tomorrow. This year we have already seen (to name just a few) – the Samsung Galaxy S5, Samsung Galaxy Alpha, Samsung Galaxy Note 4 and the Galaxy Note Edge. In fact just yesterday we got our first glimpse of their new 2014 flip phone, the Samsung Galaxy Golden 2. Well that was yesterday. Today is another day and low-and-behold Samsung have released another phone.
The newest Samsung member is part of the Core series of devices and as such goes by the handle the ‘Samsung Galaxy Core Max’. Now this is not a big fanfare flagship device and this is probably why you have not heard so much about it. In addition, it is expected that the Core Max will only be released in China. There are no current details about other markets and it probably won’t be the case. No, instead of being a proper contender this will be more touted as a middle-of-the-road mid-range device. Want to know what it offers? Well, the Core Max is not competing in the size department with a screen measuring a measly (by today’s standards) 4.8″. The display is a Super AMOLED display with a 540 x 960 resolution. Inside the device comes with 1GB RAM and is powered by a quad-core 1.2 GHz processor. For the happy snappers the Core Max offers an 8MP rear camera and a 5MP front shooter. Both cameras come with wide(ish) angle sensors. In terms of memory the Core Max offers 8GB standard internal memory (no information as of yet on expandable although you would presume so) and is powered by a 2,200mAh battery. Other features to note include LTE connectivity, dual-SIM and the device will be running out of the box on Android 4.4 (A La KitKat). At present there is no word on how much the device will cost.
