The old Moto G LTE is finally making its way over to AT&T, surprisingly. Now the Moto G had already been available from Cricket. In fact the one that I reviewed earlier this year was from Cricket (Aio at the time). But now it’s hitting regular AT&T, on Friday. The Moto G has been Motorola’s best selling smartphone of all time. And that shouldn’t be a surprise since it was one of the first that was available everywhere. If we look back at their other smartphones, they were either carrier exclusives, or only available in the US, like the Moto X was at first. The Moto G LTE is a great device, and it does pack in LTE for a pretty low price.
To be clear, this is not the new Moto G that we went to Chicago and saw a few weeks ago. But this is the Moto G from last year. So it’s got a 4.5-inch 720p display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor, 1GB of RAM, 8GB/16GB of storage, 2070mAh battery and a 5MP camera. So it’s not a high-end device, but for about $200, it’s not bad at all. AT&T will be offering if for $199 off contract, or $79.99 on a 1-year contract. I’d suggest going the no contract route, as you’ll save money over time. Also, it is only $199 off contract. Which isn’t a bad price at all. You can pick it up on AT&T Next for $7.50/month if you want to do that as well.
I really liked the old Moto G, and love the new Moto G. It’s perfect for those that don’t need their phone to do everything except make coffee. How many of you will be picking up the Moto G on Friday when it goes on sale? Let us know in the comments down below.
