Oppo introduced Oppo N3 and Oppo R5 smartphones at company’s press conference in Singapore today. Oppo N3 is company’s newest flagship device and Oppo N1’s successor, while the Oppo R5 is the new king of thin smartphones, it’s even thinner than the Gionee Elife S5.1, more on that later though. Along with announcing these two devices, Oppo also announced some accessories for them. The company didn’t share a lot of details about these gadgets, but we’ll tell you what we know thus far. O-Click remote is a small gadget which comes with a keychain clasp so that you can carry it around with you. This little gadget is more useful than it looks, not only does it let you control music playback on your Oppo N3 smartphone, but it also lets you control the camera on the Oppo N3. You can also locate your phone by using this gadget. Note that this device was introduced next to Oppo N3, though it should work with the Oppo R5 as well, but we can’t confirm that. The other gadget Oppo introduced is the O-Music Bluetooth clip which was introduced next to the Oppo R5. This is exactly what it says it is, a clip which will let you control your music and trigger your camera. It is possible O-Click works only with the Oppo N3 and O-Music only with the Oppo R5, considering they are listed separately for each device on Oppo’s website, but as I said, we can’t confirm that at the moment.
There you have it. Oppo didn’t announce a ton of accessories, but these two can be really useful, as long as Oppo puts the right price on them. Talking about prices, Oppo N3 will cost $650 and should be available in China mid-November, while the Oppo R5 should cost around $499 and will be on sale in the next couple of months, we don’t have the exact dates at the moment. We’re quite certain that both of these devices will launch in China soon, will make their way to the rest of Asian countries and will then become available internationally. I believe that Oppo went too high with prices here, especially when it comes to the Oppo N3. $650 is a lot, especially considering some Chinese manufacturers sell their flagship devices for almost half that much. We also have to assume that the price will be even higher once Oppo launches the device outside of China, which would make this device unappealing to many people. Thoughts?
