Oppo just announced company’s new Oppo N3 flagship in Singapore. The device packs really great specifications, so let’s take a closer look at what Oppo N3 has to offer.
Oppo N3 features a 5.5-inch full HD 1080p (1920 x 1080, 403ppi) AMOLED display along with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of expandable internal storage. The device is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 801 (MSM8974AA) quad-core processor clocked at 2.3GHz which comes with an Adreno 330 GPU for graphics processing. On the top of the device, you’ll notice a 16-megapixel 206-degree rotating camera with OV16825 sensor and f2.2 aperture (flash included). This camera has a built-in motor and can rotate automatically, it does that when you’re taking shots, panoramas for example. Talking about panorama images, they’re taken at a 64MP resolution. The camera is also capable of taking RAW format images and Oppo calls that package Ultra Image 2.0.
As far as connectivity goes, Oppo N3 offers Wi-Fi 802.11ac, NFC and Bluetooth 4.0 while USB OTG is also supported. 4G LTE is also supported. Here’s a list of supported bands: GSM850/900/1800/1900 ; WCDMA850/900/1700/1900/2100 ; FDD-LTE B1/3/4/7/8/17/20/28-a/28-b and TD-LTE B40. This handset has a VOOC rapid charging feature which lets you charge its 3000mAh battery from 0 to 75% in just 30 minutes. This is a single SIM device, but a dual-SIM variant will be available in the future according to Oppo. The device measures 161.2 x 77 x 9.9mm and weighs 192 grams. Notification light is also here and it is located below the screen, Oppo calls it the Notifications Light 2.0 because they updated its software. Android 4.4 KitKat comes pre-installed here with Oppo’s ColorOS 2.0 on top of it. The device will be available in white color, at least for the time being.
The handset is shorter, narrower and lighter than its predecessor, though that was to be expected due to its smaller screen, 5.5-inch compared to the 5.9-inch one on the Oppo N1. The device has a steel frame which surely makes it sturdy and it sports a faux leather sticking on the rotating camera on top, which I believe not many of you actually like.
