Verizon Will Replace the Droid Turbo's Broken Screen Over A 2-Year Period

Motorola and Verizon just announced the beastly Motorola Droid Turbo at their event in New York City. This is a true beast of a phone, but more on that later. Verizon announced a couple of interesting things on that event that are worth mentioning. The carrier will be dropping activation and upgrade fees through the end of the year which should save you some cash of course and that’s great, of course. Most importantly, Verizon will replace the screen of your Droid Turbo if you break it within the 2-year contract period. HTC did something similar in the past when they did the same thing as part of their “HTC Advantage” service, though that was valid only for the first 6 months, Verizon has you covered for full 2-year period. Verizon also announced that if you buy Droid Turbo with the monthly “EDGE” payment plan, you’ll also be eligible for the screen replacement. It’s good to see Verizon giving out perks here, this device is truly great (and expensive) and it would be a shame if you break its screen, you can at least replace it for free now if that happens.

Anyhow, back to the device itself. Motorola Droid Turbo has been leaked like crazy in the last couple of weeks and now its finally official. The device features a 5.2-inch 2K (2560 x 1440) IPS LCD display along with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of non-expandable internal storage. The device is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 805 quad-core processor, a truly beastly chip which comes with an Adreno 420 GPU. On the back of this thing, you’ll find a 21-megapixel camera capable of recording 4K video. The device ships with Android 4.4.4 KitKat which comes with some apps from Motorola and Verizon, it’s not skinned though. Moto Assist, Moto Display, Moto Voice, Moto Actions, Motorola Migrate, Droid Zap, etc. Droid Turbo also has support for Verizon’s XLTE network. The most interesting thing about this phone and icing on the cake is the 3900mAh battery which ships with this phone. Kevlar back is making yet another appearance here and rounds up a really nicely designed smartphone. I really dig this phone, this is a true flagship and I personally really can’t object to anything when it comes to the specs or the design of this device.
