You Can Now Finally Pre-Order Google's Giant 5.9-inch Nexus 6 from the Play Store

When Google announced the new Nexus 6 and Nexus 9 earlier on this month, we were all a little disappointed to hear that we couldn’t pre-order, or buy them outright, until a few weeks had passed. Of course, it does take a little while to get one of the best devices that Motorola has ever made ready and we’re pretty sure that the wait will be worth it. Today, October 29th, is the day that you can pre-order the Nexus 6, Google and Motorola’s beautifully large 5.9-inch creation and if you’ve been waiting for this goliath to go on pre-order, then you might want to be quick.

If you’ve forgotten what makes the Nexus 6 worth it’s high price tag of $649 then our device page for the Nexus 6 should help you out. Otherwise though, the key things to remember are that this is a massive, 5.9-inch Quad HD smartphone with a Snapdragon 805 clocked at a whopping 2.7 Ghz with 2GB of RAM and a 13-megapixel rear-facing camera. A Nexus 5 on steroids this is not, but rather more of a Moto X (2014) with the specs many wish it had and the latest version of Android, version 5.0 Lollipop. There are two version going up for pre-order today, the 32GB variant for $649 and the 64GB variant for $699. Both of these are available in either Midnight Blue or Cloud White. We got a quick look at the Nexus 6 earlier today and we were initially impressed and will have more coverage over the next few weeks.

You can pre-order the Nexus 6 from the Google Play Store linked below starting from 1PM Eastern, and don’t forget that you’ll have to pay tax which varies depending on where you are. Sadly, our Canadian friends will have to wait until early November, by the looks of it. You might want to be quick as is so often the case with Nexus devices, we can’t imagine Google have a huge amount of these shored up.

UPDATE: It appears that the Play Store is having some trouble (surprisingly) and while some people are reporting that things went just fine, some are able to buy a Nexus 6 even though it’s not listed as being out of stock. Shout in the comments on your experience and help out a fellow Nexus fan!
