HP has been relatively quiet lately when it comes to company’s mobile products, it was just a matter of time before we see them launch something. HP Slate 6 VoiceTab II is company’s latest tablet offering and a part of HP’s VoiceTab series of tablets. The device is now available at HP’s Online Store in India, for those of you interested, and its price is INR 15,990 ($258). The device hasn’t been officially launched yet, it has been listed, but the official launch hasn’t taken place yet. This tablet comes in silver color, no other available colors at this time.
HP Slate 6 VoiceTab II features a 6-inch 720p (1280 x 720) IPS display along with 1GB of RAM for your multitasking and 16GB of internal storage (expandable via MicroSD card up to 32GB). This device is powered by Marvell PXA1088 quad-core processor clocked at 1.2GHz. Don’t know if you’ve heard of this company, but Marvell is a US-based company and they basically produce SoCs, though their processors don’t power that many devices at the moment, though one of their processors did power the first HP Slate 6 VoiceTab which launched back in February. On the back of this tablet, you’ll find an 8-megapixel camera flanked by an LED flash, while there’s a 2-megapixel shooter located on the front side of the device. 3000mAh Li-Polymer battery comes with the device along with Android 4.4 KitKat which is pre-installed here, though you’ll find HP’s skin on top of it, of course. VoiceTab II is 8.98mm thick and weighs 160 grams, which is not bad actually. This is a dual-SIM (dual-standby) tablet, so you can place your SIM card inside and use it as a phone if you’d like, 3G connectivity is at your disposal, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 3.0 + EDR and GPS are also a part of this package.
This is a mid-range tablet, as you can see from its specifications. There are a ton of option when it comes to Android tablets and this might not be the best of them, not even close, but if you’re limited as far as your budget goes, it might be worth a look.
