Its been a busy week for LG and especially for their flagship device the LG G3. This is one of those devices that is right up at there at the moment with the best of 2014. Both industry experts and the general public have taken well to the ‘other’ South Korean manufacturer’s flagship device and there seems to be much love for the G3. Not to mention LG seem to be quite keen on the device too. More specifically, LG is keen to make sure LG G3 owners realise that LG are all about the after-care service and ‘looking after’ their customers.
With the launch of Android’s newest operating system Android 5.0 (Lollipop) the OEM race is on to see who loves their customers the most by getting Lollipop up, ready and released for their respective customers. LG is one of these and already released a G3 version of Lollipop, albeit in Poland. This was meant as a trial run (almost experimental) of Lollipop to make sure all was working fine before it gets a bigger roll out. Since then (yesterday in fact) it was reported that LG were preparing to let loose Lollipop for the G3 in their home market, South Korea. Well, a lot can happen in 24 hours and now it does indeed seem that Lollipop will be hitting the South Korean G3 this week. A post on the LG website advises the roll-out will begin in the next few days. Users can either wait for the OTA (over-the-air) update (which should be available to the country’s three big networks) or download directly from the South Korean LG website.
Before international LG G3 owners get too excited it is worth noting that the South Korea roll-out does not provide any indication of when other markets will receive the update. That said, it does highly suggest the international G3 owners will get it sooner than other OEMs (mentioning no names). What’s more if you are in South Korea and haven’t bought the LG G3 yet, then it is worth knowing that this morning LG slashed the price from $810 down to $720. Now, with Lollipop ready, loaded and about to hit you now have another reason to go and pick one up. Are you an LG G3 owner? Waiting for the update? Let us know where you want the LG update to hit next?
