Meizu’s business is booming lately. The company’s sales are going better as planned and they really came under the spotlight when they launched the original Meizu MX4 back in September. The company has unveiled the much-rumored Meizu MX4 Pro a couple of days ago and basically released yet another flagship handset just 2 and half months after they released the original MX4. Meizu MX4 Pro brings improvements all around, it sports a bigger and higher-res display on the front, 5.5-inch 2K panel. Meizu also bumped up its RAM count, MX4 Pro features 3GB of RAM compared to the MX4’s 2GB. This handset also comes with a more powerful Exynos 5430 octa-core chip and it also features a fingerprint scanner below the display.
This handset is definitely Meizu’s strongest device at the moment and I doubt the company will even think of releasing anything more powerful in the coming months. Rumors have been pointing at yet another smartphone unveiling this year when it comes to Meizu. We’re not talking about a flagship handset here though, but a more affordable MX handset. Meizu’s VP has shut down the 799 Yuan handset rumors a couple of days ago, at least for the time being. We have received another report recently though, the one stating that the company is working on a 1000-1300 Yuan handset which will be announced by the end of this year, MediaTek’s MT6572 processor was mentioned as well. Well, another report from China came our way and it basically says the same thing, but it gives us a few more details about the handset itself. This smartphone will allegedly be called Meizu MX4 Mini and it will have a 5-inch screen. Dual-SIM capability has also been mentioned as far as this handset goes.
Meizu already has 2 extremely powerful devices out on the market, though MX4 Pro is still not available for sale. The point is they don’t need another flagship, but a more affordable handset is always welcomed. If these rumors pan out, this handset could be a direct competitor to the likes of Xiaomi 1S and similar devices. We’re waiting for more information about the device itself and will let you know as soon as we come across something interesting.
