Meizu MX4 Pro launch hype didn’t even settle properly and we’ve been hearing about new devices that are coming our way from Meizu. According to the latest reports from China, Meizu will release 2 entry-level devices in January next year. We’ve been hearing all sorts of rumors regarding this handset and we can only guess what will Meizu release, so, let’s do that. First we’ve heard rumors about a MX4 Mini handset that might launch before the end of the year sporting MediaTek’s MT6752 chip, but it seems that’s not going to happen, at least it will not carry that name considering Meizu said the MX4 family is complete.
The more interesting rumors is the one that is rather similar to this one, the one that Meizu will launch 2 more devices soon. Truth be said, previous rumor stated that those devices will be launch before the end of this year, but it seems that won’t be the case. January is the rumored timeframe for the release of these devices, though keep in mind this is only just a rumors. If I had to guess, I’d say these devices will have a 5-inch display, or something close to it, along with MediaTek’s processor on the inside and a 720p display. These handsets will most probably aim at Xiaomi’s Redmi 1S as far as price goes, so we can expect an extremely affordable devices to come our way.
The other part of this rumor has to do with Meizu MX4‘s release date in Taiwan. According to VR-Zone, the device will launch in Taiwan in mid-December and will be priced at NT$9990, which is about $324. Chunghwa Telecom is expected to offer the device on contract in January next year. MX4 Pro, on the other hand, is expected to launch in Taiwan in February next year, no word on pricing at the moment.
Meizu MX4 Pro features a 5.5-inch 2K (2560 x 1536) along with 3GB of RAM and 16, 32 or 64GB of internal storage, depending on which model you decide to purchase. Samsung’s Exynos 5430 octa-core processor is powering this handset and it comes with Mali-T628 MP6 GPU for graphics rendering. 20.7-megapixel camera by Sony is located on the back of the device while there’s a 5-megapixel sensor by OmniVision available up front. The handset ships with a non-removable 3350mAh battery and comes with Android 4.4 KitKat pre-installed with Meizu’s Flyme OS on top of it. The handset sports similar build to the original MX4, except it’s bigger and it has a fingerprint scanner below the display. MX4 Pro is now available for pre-order in China and will go on sale on December 6th, it will launch in Taiwan in February it seems and we still don’t have any information when it comes to international availability of this handset.
