Huawei’s upcoming Glory 6 Plus handset has been all over the tech news lately. The device was certified by TENAA (China’s equivalent of the FCC) recently and everyone thought it will be called “Glory 6X”, but Huawei actually denied that and changed the name of the handset to Glory 6 Plus, which they shared with the public via event teasers released about two days ago. Anyhow, today’s report is stating that the device will launch at Huawei’s even in China on December 18th and now we have some additional leaks to share with you. According to a leaked Power Point slide from China, the device will cost at least 3,299 Yuan ($537), which is not exactly an affordable price, but the device really does pack a lot for that price. I have to admit that I was hoping for Huawei to release a sub-$500 device here, I’d even say sub-$450, but it seems like that’s not going to happen. Anyhow, let’s see what will this device offer for said price.
Huawei Glory 6 will, according to TENAA listing, sport a 5.5-inch 1080p (1920 x 1080) display along with 3GB of RAM for all your multitasking needs and 32GB of internal storage. This handset will be powered by a 1.8GHz octa-core processor and will ship with a dual 8-megapixel cameras on the back of the device, which will be used for 3D capture or some sort of a refocus feature like we’ve seen on the HTC One M8. Android 4.4 KitKat will ship with this device with Huawei’s Emotion UI on top of it. The device will quite probably support 4G LTE connectivity, though that wasn’t mentioned by TENAA listing. Huawei Glory 6 Plus will measure 150.46 — 75.68 — 7.5mm and it will weight 165 grams.
This Chinese manufacturer has huge plans for the coming year, we’ll see some great devices from Huawei, if a leaked roadmap document was accurate. Until then, Huawei will launch this rather expensive Glory 6 Plus device, which is a really good offering, but I believe Huawei pushed it too far with this price, assuming the device will indeed cost at least 3,299 Yuan ($537).
