Description: TickPick is an Android application that can help you find tickets to see performances for some of the hottest artists right now without having to pay for any extra fees like “admin fees” or “ticket handling fees”. It’s a smooth application that sorts things by performers and then their events, with further options to sort your tickets by seating, price and you can even set alerts to be notified of when the ticket price drops to your desired level. With many of the hottest artists having events listed in TickPick, this little app could be the best way for you to find tickets from your smartphone, and in many ways possibly the cheapest. Let’s take a closer look at what TickPick has to offer shall we?
How it Works: On your Android device, you can just head on over to the Play Store to download TickPick to your device. Once you open the app, you’ll be shown a look at some of the featured artists with performances in the near future.
I managed to find some of my favorite artists right now in this lineup of featured performers, including greats Bastille.
I soon found what I was really looking for though, which was tickets to Jason Derulo, someone I know my girlfriend would really want to see.
Here I can see which dates are coming up and the dollar sign is either green, yellow or red depending on how many seats are left. You can take a closer look at the event you want to watch by just tapping on it and all the info you need is on the next page.
Once you’ve consulted the diagram and picked out where you think you’d like to sit, you can go ahead and see how much it all comes to. A lot of games, concerts or plays feature a custom seating map designed by TickPick, which look a lot nicer and are interactive to help you inform your decision. One such example is below.
This is where the best bit happens, you only ever pay for the ticket, there are no hidden fees or anything like that. What you see listed, is what you pay.
Thankfully there were two tickets left, which will make a nice early Christmas present for my girlfriend. Now all I have to is either log in with Facebook or quickly create an account and then checkout – it’s as easy as that.
One thing that I did like is that after a while browsing these artists, your list of “My Performers” will populate, making it easier to see these acts again when they’re in town.
Opinion: TickPick is an Android app that I’m sure will appeal to a great many of users out there, especially those that are keen to spend time watching their favorite performers whenever they get the chance. It’s so refreshing to not come up against nasty admin fees or handling fees when shopping for concert tickets as well. Sure, everyone needs to make money here, but with a million fees being put on top of what is essentially a very simple purchase things get out of hand. Thankfully though, TickPick does away with all of that and really, the process couldn’t be any easier making this an app that anyone can use to save money on tickets and just get the seat they wanted without the hassle.

- Speed (4/5) – TickPick’s app ran nice and smoothly for me and the overall process is really quite quick.
- Features (4/5) – As ticket apps go, this is one of the most transparent and helpful out there, making this a pretty big breath of fresh air.
- Theme (4/5) – The app looks decent and it’s easy enough to navigate through. An overall pleasant experience there’s nothing difficult about using TickPick.
- Overall (4/5) – TickPick is a breath of fresh air in the world of concert tickets and not only does it wave extra fees goodbye, but it makes finding and booking tickets for your favorite artist that much easier.
Pros
- Doesn’t charge you any extra fees, what you see is what you pay at the checkout.
- Makes it nice and easy to choose where you want to sit with many venues showing an easy-to-follow diagram.
- Nice and easy to navigate, with no hoops to jump through and no ads getting in the way.
- Easy enough for users of any age to get to grips with, TickPick is one of those apps that’s universal in its appeal.
Cons
- While not optimized for tablets, it would be nice to see a tablet UI as many people purchase things from their tablets these days.
- There were some hiccups while exploring certain artists, but I assume these will be fixed before long.
Conclusion: While I imagine that TickPick isn’t the absolute cheapest place to buy tickets, their no fee model can ensure that 90% of tickets purchased through TickPick are cheaper, it’s still one of the most relaxing and easiest ways of doing so. For one thing, I hate added fees at checkout, I feel they’re dishonest and they’re tarnishing the industry as a whole. With TickPick there’s none of that nonsense, you find a venue and date that suits you, choose where you want to sit and then you pay the figure that was shown to you. It’s simple, easy to use and works well – what more could we ask for?
