You may recall that Meizu had some issues meeting the demand for its MX4 handset back in September. The company has received an overwhelming amount of pre-orders for the handset and had to sort out its production capacity in order to deliver all those units in time (or with minimal delays). Some of those handsets were actually a bit late with delivery, though Meizu did a great job for the most part. The company has promised that there won’t be similar issues when it comes to the recently announced MX4 Pro handset and its delivery. They said that the preparations are almost complete and that everything will be ready for December 6th when the device will be available for sale (it is currently on pre-order and it will start shipping on December 6th).
Anyhow, we didn’t get much information regarding Meizu’s solution for this problem, until now that is. It seems like Meizu splashed out a significant amount of money in order to ensure this doesn’t happen again. According to the report by an analyst, Sun Changsu, Meizu paid Dongguan Jinsheng about 6 million Yuan ($975,000) in order to ensure their services and help (quickly) when it comes to manufacturing Meizu’s handsets. This company has been founded in 2003 and in 2010 has been listed on the Shenzhen Stock Exchange. This company is actually a well-known manufacturers, Samsung, Huawei, ZTE, Coolpad and Xiaomi have all been using their services along with a bunch of other brands.
It looks like Meizu found a quick solution to its problems and it definitely paid off. It remains to be seen, however, how will Meizu deal with the MX4 Pro demand. The company assures us that there won’t be any problems when it comes to meeting the demand for the MX4 Pro and i guess we’ll find out rather soon. Meizu has received a lot of pre-orders (2 million in the first 24 hours) for the handset thus far and first units will be shipped on December 6th when the device will also go on sale for 2,499 Yuan ($406), which is kind of a bargain for this handset considering its specifications, which you can check here by the way.
