Earlier today, we saw leaked benchmarks of the HTC One (codenamed Hima) that should be announced shortly. They showed us that the device would sport a 5-inch 1920×1080 resolution display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor with an Adreno 430 GPU. It’s also going to sport a 13MP camera and a 20.7MP camera. Which is a huge upgrade on both camera’s from the HTC One M8 which had a 5MP and 4MP camera on board.
Now we’re learning that the Hima might be heading to Verizon. Now this isn’t really a surprise. But our friends over Droid Life did some digging and found out that the model number of the Hima lines up with an existing phone on Verizon from HTC, the HTC One Remix, aka the HTC One Mini 2. The model number of this HTC device is the HTC6535LVW, while the HTC One Remix is the HTC6500LVW. Which tells us this is the Verizon model. Obviously, the “VW” at the end is what we care about, as that likely stands for “Verizon Wireless”.
Either way we should find out real soon. As HTC’s CES invite went out today and it looks like we’re going to be getting the HTC One at CES next week. We’ll be there and will be sure to keep you updated on what HTC has planned for HTC, as everything starts this coming Sunday. And Monday is Press day in Las Vegas.
If these specs for HTC’s newest flagship hold true, I think they might grab a pretty large market share in 2015. The only real issue most people had with the HTC One M7 and HTC One M8 was the camera. The 4MP UltraPixel camera just wasn’t enough for most people. But if this 20.7MP camera is the same Sony sensor as the Xperia Z2, Xperia Z3, Xperia Z3v and the Motorola Droid Turbo, we can put that all to rest. As that sensor is bad ass.
