We’ve heard several rumors and reports regarding Motorola’s Moto X (2nd-gen) device and its launch in China. It seems like Motorola will launch the device soon considering the company has posted yet another teaser, this time it’s located on their official Chinese webpage. You can see the teaser itself below this article which shows us Motorola’s logo and a short sentence on top of it, roughly translated it says: “Are you ready? We’ll announce it soon”. It is quite obvious Motorola is teasing a Chinese version of their Moto X handset and that they’ll launch that device soon, who knows, perhaps even before the end of the year.
Motorola Moto X features a 5.2-inch 1080p (1920 x 1080) AMOLED display along with 2GB of RAM for your multitasking needs and 16 or 32GB of non-expandable storage. This handset is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 801 quad-core processor and it ships with 13 and 2-megapixel camera sensors. The 13-megapixel sensor can be found on the back of the device and is flanked by a dual-LED flash, while the 2-megapixel sensor is located on the front of the phone, above the screen. Motorola Moto X ships with Android 4.4.4 KitKat, but it can already be upgraded to Android 5.0 Lollipop, not to mention we’re talking about Google’s stock experience here with the addition of only a few Motorola applications on top of it.
It remains to be seen what will the difference between the regular and Chinese Moto X be, because a number of Google services are blocked in China. You can expect all regular Moto X features to come pre-installed on this device though and the OS probably won’t be altered that much. I just hope that Moto X will keep its strong sides, at least to some extent. I hope this handset will launch before the end of this year and taking into consideration today’s Motorola teaser, that is very likely to happen. Either way, do you think this handset will still be an appealing offering even without a number of its regular Google services which I presume will be removed? In addition, the device is expected to cost somewhere between 3,499 and 3,999 Yuan ($565 and $646).
