The Nexus 9 and Nexus 6 launched alongside Android 5.0 Lollipop, ushering in a new design language for Android, dubbed Material Design and while the new style is still dividing Android fans new and old, it’s definitely a nice change from the older Holo theme. Chances are that a lot of you maybe picked up a new Nexus 9 for Christmas, or perhaps a Nexus 7 (2013) with Lollipop running on it. Even if you’re still waiting for Lollipop to hit your device (as I am with my Xperia Z2) it’s not too hard to get a little Material Design on your device. Many key Android apps from Google have been updated with the new look and feel and there are launchers, icon packs and wallpapers available as well. Speaking of wallpapers…
Google Plus user J. Amourette has put together a whopping gallery of 675 different wallpapers, all created with Material Design in mind. While not all of them strictly follow Material Design guidelines, they won’t look out of place on your device running Android 5.0 and they’ll bring a taste of what’s to come when your device is blessed with the latest version of Android. They’re all free to download, and you can take a look at them all on Google+, choosing which ones you want to try out right away or you can download the whole bunch if you’d like.
You can find the whole ‘Ultimate Material Lollipop Collection’ album here, and be sure to leave a thumbs-up and thanks to Mr Amourette for putting this collection together and enjoy the new Material look and feel on your homescreen.
