Xiaomi Mi5 Images Surface And Show Off A Really Thin And Sleek Device

As soon as Meizu launched their latest MX4 Pro handset, rumors have started coming in regarding the Xiaomi’s next big thing, company’s Mi5 flagship. Xiaomi Mi4 was announced back in July and the company has sold many units thus far, which is no surprise really considering that this is the high-end handset which sports great build quality and yet doesn’t cost much at all, especially for a flagship handset. Anyhow, a couple of days ago, a report came our way stating that the Mi5 will be launched at CES (Consumer Electronics Show) in Las Vegas which will take place next month (January). This seems a bit far-fetched considering the fact Mi4 launched in July this year, but who knows what Xiaomi has planned, perhaps they actually manage to pull this off.

This time around, we stumbled upon some alleged Mi5 images which look really good in my humble opinion. These two images show us the front and back of the phone, but you can also see the sides of them considering the angle of the image. The device seems really thin actually and it just looks sleek all around, the metal trim seems to be included here as well, which is a good thing. According to previous rumors, Xiaomi Mi5 might feature a 5.7-inch Quad HD display, though to be quite honest, that seems a bit big, especially considering the Mi4 sports a 5-inch panel, but we’ll see. Other rumored specs suggest the handset will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 810 octa-core processor clocked at 2.5GHz and 3 or 4GB of RAM. 20.7-megapixel camera is said to be located at the back of this handset and 4G LTE connectivity and a fingerprint scanner have also been mentioned.

To be quite honest, part of these specifications seem fishy to me, especially the screen size. If the handset actually launched in January, Snapdragon 810 will quite probably be out of the question, so… we’ll see. We don’t know anything for sure at the moment, but if you ask me, I doubt Xiaomi will launch this thing at CES and I don’t believe the display will be that big. I might be wrong though, what do you think? Also, what do you think about these leaked images, do you like the design?
