LG unveiled the LG G Flex 2 at CES 2015 this past week, and we got to see our first glimpse of the device in all its glory clad in silver and red finishes, complete with a slightly smaller display than the original model, but beefed up with a more powerful processor in the form of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 810, and a more improved self healing back compared to the original LG G Flex, at least according to LG. This week, the LG G Flex 2 made a stop at the FCC before it makes its way over to the shelves of US Cellular (model number LG-US995). Alongside US Cellular, the LG G Flex 2 is slated to head to AT&T and Sprint as well, although we haven’t heard anything about it showing up on T-Mobile (which sold the original model) or Verizon Wireless.
We know that the LG G Flex 2 for US Cellular is due to hit the stores sometime in the Spring, but they haven’t confirmed a specific date yet unfortunately. Inside of the FCC documents we can see what bands this model of the G Flex 2 supports, which includes LTE bands 5 and 12 as well as CDMA bands 850 and 1900 which as Droid Life points out are the US Cellular bands.
The LG G Flex 2 on US Cellular should be coming in both color variants, (silver and red) at least we’d expect it to, unlike the Sprint model which is said to be getting an exclusive color just for their carrier. The LG G Flex 2 carries a 5.5-inch Full HD P-OLED display, which helps to show off the amazing pictures you can take with the 13MP rear facing camera equipped with OIS+ and laser auto focus. It’s also featuring a 3,000mAh battery so you can literally use it all day, and it features quick charge with the capability to give it up to 50% battery life with just a 40 minute charge. If you’re on US Cellular (or AT&T or Sprint for that matter) and are looking forward to grabbing this device, keep your eyes peeled for updates on when you can pick this up and how much you’ll be spending. Anyone excited for the LG G Flex 2? Will you be upgrading to it or are you waiting for LG’s next flagship device?
