Oppo has launched their R1C handset today, a rather solid mid-ranger with a sapphire glass back. Anyhow, we’ve already covered the launch of this device, and if you’d like to check that out, click here. We’re here to take a look at yet another upcoming Oppo handset, Oppo U3. This device has already popped up on GFXBench and was already certified in China this month. Another report came out confirming this device’s specifications and revealing its alleged price. Let’s take a look.
According to a leak on Twitter by @leaksfly, this handset will cost 2,798 Yuan ($452). This is not exactly a low price, but this is a really solid device as far as specs go. Oppo U3 will feature a 5.9-inch 1080p (1920 x 1080) display along with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. MediaTek’s MT6752 64-bit octa-core processor will power on this thing and the device will be only 8mm thick. Oppo’s VOOC rapid charging will be a part of this package as well according to the leak, which will make it possible for you to charge the device in no time. 13-megapixel camera will be located at the back of this device, and a 5-megapixel shooter will be available up front. This leak doesn’t mention anything about the previously leaked camera with a 4X optical zoom, and this leak actually says the phone is 1mm thinner than the device that was certified by TENAA. This brings a layer of confusion to the table, but I hope Oppo will launch this thing soon and remove any doubt what so ever. In addition, the device will weighs 180 grams, in case you were wondering.
This device was initially expected to launch in China today, but Oppo launched the R1C handset, and didn’t share any news regarding the U3. I do believe the company will launch this thing soon, but we’re not sure when. What are your thoughts here? Do you like this device, and would you be interested in purchasing one if it had the camera with optical zoom capabilities? Let us know what you think via social networks, we’d love to hear from you.
