There are always rumors swirling around whenever Samsung is involved, especially when a big show is in town like CES 2015 in Las Vegas. It is no secret that Samsung sales have been in a slump, especially since the Galaxy S5 sales were way below expectations. Customers were not happy with Samsung’s lack of innovation and use of materials on the Galaxy S5 – they wanted some sort of metal and they were given nothing but plastic. Samsung tried a metal experiment called the Galaxy Alpha and it was accepted for its looks, just not its specifications and pricing. Samsung was smart enough to use a metal frame and metal trim around the outside on their Galaxy Note 4, and it too was a hit.
It is rumored that Samsung is working on several variants of the Galaxy S6, and all have some metal on them of sorts. Whether it will have simply a metal frame and trim or the ‘full metal jacket,’ we do not know – heck, Samsung might not even know which way they will go. A normally reliable French website, nowhereelse, is showing photos that they are claiming could be the final metal shell or chassis of the new Galaxy S6. If these pictures are real, it could look like the Galaxy Alpha or Galaxy A series. If the rumors are true, then Samsung could be doing a complete overhaul of its design and it has also been rumored that several prototypes have been tested.
The website claims that the metal body was produced by Samsung, but their source could not be sure if this is intended for the new Galaxy S6. The cut-out for the camera lens, does appear to be designed for a Samsung camera lens…the same with the positioning of the battery. We also heard rumors that although the device itself will not be revealed, that Samsung will discretely make a presentation regarding the Galaxy S6 to several select journalists at the 2015 CES in Las Vegas. Please hit us up on our Google+ Page and let us know what you would like to see in the next design of the Galaxy S6 – besides a new and improved TouchWiz – as always, we would love to hear from you.
