With MWC 2015 fast approaching, there are going to be quite a few announcements, press releases and new devices all being revealed. While most of the recent talk has been around what Samsung and HTC has to offer, it is important to remember that they are not the only ones who will be there. One of the other companies who will be touting their wares is Archos and they have today already announced that they will be announcing the launch of four new android devices. Now, these are not flagship devices but nevertheless, will also not come with flagship prices. Instead, these offerings are being far more aimed towards the budget end of the market.
First up is the Archos 50 Oxygen Plus (image above). This is the most premium of the new devices on offer and will come with a 5 inch display with a 1280 x 720 resolution. Inside, the device will be equipped with 1GB RAM and powered by a MediaTek MT 6592 octa-core processor. In terms of memory, the Oxygen Plays will come with 16GB internal storage along with a microSD card slot. Camera-wise, this devices will come equipped with an 8MP rear shooter and a 5MP front facing option. Additional features include a 2,000mAh battery and running on Android 4.4 (KitKat). The Oxygen Plus will be first available in March as a 3G variant and will be priced at just under $200. Archos also advised that a 4G version is due to be released sometime in June and this one will come equipped with a 4G Octo-Core MT6752 processor and running on Android 5.0 (Lollipop).
The remaining three smartphones are all variants of the same prototype and as such come with common specs. The largest of the three devices is the Archos 62 Xenon which will come with a 6.2 inch display and powered by a 2,300mAh battery. This will also be the most expensive of the three coming in at around $170. The second smartphone will be the Archos 59 Xenon and this one will come with a 5.9 inch display and running on a 2,500mAh battery. This one will be much cheaper coming in at $145. The last of the three is the Archos 52 Platinum which will come with a 5.25 inch display and be powered by a 1,750mAh battery. In spite of this being the smallest of the three, this one will be mid-priced between the two coming in at $158. In terms of their common features, all three will be equipped with 1GB RAM and running on the same MediaTek MT 6582 quad-core processor. All three will offer 8GB internal storage along with a microSD card slot for expandable storage. In terms of camera, all three will come with an 8MP rear shooter along with a 2MP front-facing option. It is also worth noting that all three will be 3G devices, offer dual-SIM support and running on Android 4.4 (KitKat).
