ZTE Showcases Latest Smart Devices Headed to Europe at MWC

ZTE Mobile Devices is a division of ZTE Corporation, headquartered in Shenzhen, China.  While not as easily recognized in the US, as say Samsung, HTC or LG, they are a global telecommunications company that provides equipment, networks and mobile devices around the world.  Many of their devices in the US are sold as a prepaid option, rather than a postpaid device…however, in Europe the landscape is different and at this year’s Mobile World Congress (MWC), ZTE displayed a range of smart devices that will soon launch across the European markets.

These flagship products include the smart voice ZTE Star 2, Smart Sense ZTE Blade S6 and the Spro 2 – the only smart projector with a touchscreen running the Android operating system.  Kan Yulun, CEO of EMEA & LATAM, ZTE Mobile Devices, and Vice President of ZTE Corporation said, “We are very excited to confirm the upcoming European availability for several of our hottest new products.  We will continue to bring our latest smartphones to markets across Europe, as well as other smart connected devices such as our Spro 2 smart projector.”

ZTE featured two smartphones that are running Android 5.0 Lollipop – The ZTE Blade S6 and for the more budget minded ZTE Blade L3.  The ZTE Blade S6, with a 5-inch 1280 x 720p display, showcases ZTE’s Smart Sense – an intuitive and practical sense of gesture and motion controls.  It will launch off-line by the end of the month in Germany, Spain and France.  It has already been sold online via eBay and Amazon for the UK, Germany, France, Italy and Spain.  The ZTE Blade L3, a 5-inch 960 x 540p display, is aimed at the younger, more budget-minded shopper and is expecting an European launch in April.

In a up and coming market segment of smart projectors, ZTE is offering the Spro 2 that runs the Android operation system.  Because of that feature, the touchscreen will give the user full access to the Google Play Store and all of its apps, movies and books as well as act as a mobile hotspot.  The Spro 2 was originally revealed at the 2015 Consumer Electronics Show (CES) and received four awards.  It will be available later this year across European markets and even in the US through wireless carriers.

ZTE also upgraded their ZTE Star 2 to feature English-language GPS and speech-to-text input that supports British English and will debut in Germany at CeBIT on March 12.  ZTE is also working on support for Spanish, bringing its language capabilities to three, including Chinese and English.
